The National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) joined the roundtable event “Triple-Helix Circular Economy Synergies,” an innovative platform fostering collaboration among public institutions, the private sector, and academia.
The event was held in the framework of the “Research Expertise from the Academic Diaspora” (READ) project, supported by the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF).
AKBN’s participation in this roundtable highlights its ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable development and circular economy practices in Albania, through joint efforts with key stakeholders in policy, business, and scientific research.
This roundtable brought together key stakeholders from various fields, including representatives from governmental institutions, the private sector, local and diaspora academics, as well as non-governmental organizations with the main objective: promoting sustainable and innovative practices toward a greener circular economy.
Mr. Sofjan Jaupaj, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Environment, emphasized Albania’s commitment to European Union integration and the importance of Chapter 27, highlighting the critical role of education and collaboration among stakeholders in supporting the green transition. As one of the key actors, the National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) reaffirmed its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote a greener and more innovative approach to economic and environmental development.
The discussions were focuded on critical issues, including the transformative role of education in advancing sustainable development models; the adaptation of international best practices to local contexts; and the strategic engagement of the diaspora in leveraging global expertise to contribute to Albania’s economic growth.
The meeting explored the international perspective on education for the circular economy, highlighting the critical importance of green innovation and systems thinking. This roundtable provided a valuable forum for the exchange of diverse insights and experiences, establishing a solid groundwork for future strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
