On March 9-11, 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia, a conference was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) entitled “Unveiling market opportunities for boosting residential energy efficiency and renewable sources and alleviating ‘energy poverty’”, which aimed to explore key market players to increase investment in renewable sources and energy efficiency in multi-apartment buildings and leading to alleviation of ‘energy poverty’.
The National Agency of Natural Resources was invited to this conference and represented by the Executive Director of AKBN, who is accompanied by his staff and representatives from government, communities, policy makers, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions and donating agencies, as well.
The conference served as a good platform to discuss ambiguous issues in the sector of construction, where experts from different countries, presented their expertise with key points on solutions to creat mechanisms and systems on possible thermal renovation of residential buildings as a way that contributes to the reduction of “energy poverty”. Also through the exchange of information and knowledge-transfer from Eastern European countries, was informed about the expertise of support mechanisms of homeowners associations, bringing for discussion important issues, starting with the perspective of policies up to financial and technical solutions.
