Hydrocarbon Department, as a part of National Agency of Natural Resources as well as its mission function, has the main duties and objectives, as below:
To consult, suggest and collaborate with the relevant governmental structures for the development of policies in hydrocarbons field;
To realize governmental policies in hydrocarbons field;
To provide, within its activity field, the government opponent, on studies and projects in the area of hydrocarbons;
To promote hydrocarbon resources, negotiate hydrocarbons agreements and monitor the implementation of their development plans;
To prepare the necessary documentation and procedures for issuing permits, licenses and authorizations in accordance of the law, which will enable the signing of hydrocarbon agreements and the performing of hydrocarbon operations as per the signed agreements;
To supervise hydrocarbon activities;
To monitor the execution of signed agreements on hydrocarbons;
To manage exclusively all primary data of the hydrocarbon sector;
To commercialize the hydrocarbon part belongs to the State according to the hydrocarbon agreements, based on free market principles, etc.
