AKBN Hosts Strategic Meeting with the Mining Industry: Strengthening Collaboration and Addressing Shared Challenges

The National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) held a dedicated meeting with representatives of mining companies, aimed at fostering dialogue, enhancing cooperation, and promoting transparency across the sector.

In his opening remarks, Executive Director Mr. Genci Tërpo outlined the objectives of this renewed communication initiative: identifying shared priorities for sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of investment in modern technologies, and reaffirming the agency’s role in monitoring and supporting the mining industry.

Participating companies presented their operational progress, key projects, and contributions to Albania’s economic, social, and environmental landscape, while also sharing expectations regarding institutional support. The open discussion addressed critical topics such as licensing and administrative procedures, workplace safety, environmental protection, technological investment, and reporting transparency.

The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on the need for closer communication, enabling AKBN to further strengthen its collaboration with mining entities and consolidate its role as a strategic partner in the sustainable development of the sector.
