Mr. Genci Tërpo is the Executive Director of the National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) of Albania.

Previously, he served as Director General of the National EITI Secretariat at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, where he led the national implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard and represented Albania at the EITI International Assembly and Board.

Mr. Tërpo has managed and coordinated major projects funded by the World Bank and international donors, including the OECD, SECO, and UNDP, contributing to the development of fiscal transparency mechanisms, open data systems, and the mining cadastre for the oil, gas, and mining sectors.

In earlier roles, he served as Legal Advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, providing legal and policy support in the fields of energy and natural resources.

In terms of academic and international training, Mr. Tërpo has completed executive programs at the University of Oxford (Blavatnik School of Government) and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (NRGI), with a focus on public leadership, natural resource governance, and energy transition.

He holds a Master of Science in Law (Public Law), an Executive Master’s degree in Criminology, and a Law degree from the University of Tirana. He has also completed specialized international training programs in the extractive industries, public procurement, and sector governance.
