The National Agency of Natural Resources (AKBN) and the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals of Kosovo (ICMM), organized on October 22, 2020, a joint meeting at the premises of AKBN, in the framework of cooperation and exchange of mutual experience between two institutions.

The delegation from Kosovo was received by the Executive Director Mr. Adrian Bylyku, and the accompanying staff of AKBN. After the welcome speech by the head of AKBN, the meeting continued with discussions in the professional aspect, for further developments of this cooperation.

Specifically, the Executive Director of AKBN proposed the publication of a joint bulletin with ISSN as a scientific journal, to include in the content of this journal researches made on minerals, exchanges of graphic materials, updated studies and data on the mineral of chromium, copper, etc., to highlight information and research on non-metals and metals, decorative stone, etc..

Kosovo delegation and the representatives of AKBN agreed on a legal initiative for legal approximation in the mining field between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Kosovo, an initiative which will be supported for implementation by the Co-Government Platform for Business.

In the technical point of view, it was also agreed to standardize the mining industry indicators in accordance with the directive of the European Community “Inspire EU 2007 / 2KE”, exchange of experience for the improvement and updated GIS data system.
