Scope of activity
- Consults, proposes and cooperates with relevant structures of the Government, on drafting Government’s policies on mining;
- Implements Government policies on mining;
- Provides, within its scope of activity, government opponent opinion to studies and projects on mining and post-mining ;
- Promotes mineral resources and follows programs designed for their development;
- Supervises the mining activity, reviews the annual mining activity plan for each mining permit and reports on the current situation;
- Carries out mining and post-mining monitoring of closed and under conservation mines;
- Builds and approves maps of areas of mining hazards, as well as monitors them. Evaluates the degree of mining hazard, possible negative effects, and proposes the measures to be taken to prevent this hazard;
- Examines and evaluates the accomplishment of the conditions to issue the exploitation permit and the certifying documents for the applications on free areas and those under competitive process;
- Exclusively administers all primary data related to mining and post-mining activity.
